The WTO ruled largely in favour of Indonesia in its challenges to EU anti-dumping duties on Indonesian biodiesel, decided January 25, 2018. Indonesia says the ruling could reopen the EU market for its biodiesel exports.
Duties on Indonesian shipments were set at 8.8% to 20.5% in 2013.
A reopened EU outlet for Indonesian biodiesel would support palm oil demand for biofuel use and could tighten palm supply, a mildly bullish factor for palm oil prices.
After 133 past bullish trade events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.7% over 5 sessions (64% higher; middle half -0.8% to +2.3%), and +1.7% over 20.
