Brazil's safrinha (second-crop) corn harvest is progressing, and the April-May drought is now clearly reducing yields. Dry, cold weather has sped up harvesting of second-crop corn, cotton, coffee, sugar cane and citrus.
Lower Brazilian safrinha output tightens exportable corn supplies, which supports corn prices and the feed-grain complex.
After 1,465 past bullish weather events, CORN moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.9%), and +0.9% over 20.
