Stevedores’ Ceasework Stir Disrupts Cargo Movement At Paradip Port

A cease-work strike by stevedore firms halted cargo handling at Paradip Port in India on Wednesday, affecting loading and unloading for as many as 14 ships. Helpers at Orissa Stevedores Limited are demanding operator status and higher pay, and talks with port authorities failed.
