Oil World says China is likely to buy more vegetable oils and oilmeals on world markets in coming weeks as the US-China trade war cuts its soybean imports. Chinese soybean imports could fall by at least 11 million tonnes in November 2018 to January 2019 unless US purchases resume.
China is also expected to buy palm oil, soyoil, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil.
Expected Chinese buying of vegoils and meals supports palm, soy and sunflower oil prices and meal demand, while reduced soybean crush tightens Chinese domestic oilmeal supplies.
