The new Yevrovneshtorg grain terminal at Ukraine's Olvia seaport loaded its first vessel, carrying 21,000 tonnes of corn for Lebanon, completed December 16. The terminal plans to handle 1 million tonnes of agricultural cargo in 2019.
Added export terminal capacity at Olvia gives Ukraine more outlet for corn and grain, a mildly bearish factor for export prices over time. The effect on the market is small at this scale.
After 359 past bearish logistics events, Corn moved a median -0.3% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -1.5% to +1.5%), and -0.5% over 20.
