Two new oat varieties, ORe3541M and ORe3542M, will launch in Western Canada for spring 2019 planting, marketed by SeCan. The varieties combine yield, standability and milling quality, with kernel plumpness above 90%.
Better milling oats could reduce the volume of thin oats sent to feed markets, slightly tightening feed oat supply over time while raising demand for milling grades.
After 16 past neutral weather events, Oats moved a median +0.8% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -5.9% to +3.3%), and +0.0% over 20.
