China has granted new waivers to several importers allowing purchases of U.S. soybeans exempt from retaliatory tariffs. The waivers were offered in two batches totaling roughly 5 to 6 million tonnes, according to sources.
The move comes as China returned to the U.S. soybean market this month.
Large tariff-exempt buying from China supports U.S. soybean export demand and firms futures, while easing the trade dispute reduces downside risk for soybeans and soybean meal.
