A Reuters poll of traders, planters and analysts expects Malaysian palm oil end-September stocks to rise 3.2 per cent to about 2 million tonnes, the highest since February 2016. September production is forecast at 1.84 million tonnes, the strongest monthly level in nearly two years.
Rising inventories and output are bearish for palm oil prices, and October production is expected to be higher still.
After 96 past bearish report events, Palm Oil moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.6%), and -0.9% over 20.
