Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade extended safeguard duties on imported monoammonium phosphate and diammonium phosphate for two more years. The customs duty is about $46 per tonne and will fall slightly in steps through September 2022.
The measure keeps duties in place rather than removing them.
Continued import duties keep Vietnamese DAP and MAP import costs elevated, limiting import volumes. The effect on global prices is small because the duty step-downs are modest.
After 29 past neutral policy events, DAP moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (55% higher; middle half -0.4% to +1.3%), and +1.9% over 20.
