The Federal Reserve's H.10 release published foreign exchange rates for late March through early April 2020. It shows the Brazilian real, Mexican peso, South African rand and other emerging-market currencies weakening against the dollar during that period.
A stronger dollar makes US commodity exports more expensive for foreign buyers and tends to weigh on dollar-denominated grain and oilseed prices. Weak emerging-market currencies can also reduce import demand for feed ingredients.
After 53 past bullish report events, US Dollar (Broad) moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -0.4% to +0.5%), and +0.5% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
