Malaysia cut its crude palm oil export duty for May to 4.5% from 5% in April, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board said, citing the customs department. The reference price was set at RM2,460.89 per tonne.
A small duty cut lowers the cost of exporting Malaysian crude palm oil, but analysts expect little effect on volumes, so the price impact is minor.
After 513 past neutral policy events, Palm Oil moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -1.6% to +1.4%), and -0.1% over 20.
