Malaysia announced a full export duty exemption on crude palm oil, crude palm kernel oil and processed palm kernel oil for July through December 2020, as part of an economic stimulus package. Traders estimate the exemption could add about 1 million tonnes to exports in the second half of the year.
Removing the export duty lowers Malaysian palm oil's landed cost in India and other importers, which is likely to raise export volumes and weigh on palm oil prices relative to Indonesian supply.
