Ukrainian sea ports shipped 1.13 million tonnes of staple grains from May 16 to 29, 44% less than the prior two weeks, according to APK-Inform. Wheat shipments fell 59% to 304,000 tonnes, corn fell by a third to 802,000 tonnes, and barley dropped to 19,000 tonnes.
The slowdown in Ukrainian port loadings reduces near-term export supply of wheat and corn. Buyers should expect firmer Black Sea offers if the pace does not recover.
After 480 past neutral trade events, Corn moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.6%), and +0.7% over 20.
