Argentina's farm groups and growers objected to a government proposal that would link interest payments on restructured sovereign bonds to agricultural export volumes. The warrants would pay out when farm exports hit set thresholds, and growers fear they would keep export taxes at 33% for soy products and 12% for corn and wheat.
The government then paused debt talks on June 17.
If export taxes stay high to satisfy bondholders, Argentine farm selling and crush margins remain constrained, which can limit export supply and support soymeal and soyoil prices.
