Soy Transportation Coalition and the United Soybean Board say dredging of the lower Mississippi is moving ahead of schedule, with groundbreaking set for July 31. The coalition estimates the project will add $461 million in revenue for soybean farmers.
It says the project will save 13 cents per bushel in freight by allowing 500,000-bushel ocean vessel loads.
Estimated freight savings of 13 cents per bushel would narrow transport costs for soybean exporters, supporting Gulf basis and export demand.
After 206 past bullish logistics events, Soybeans moved a median +0.5% over 5 sessions (56% higher; middle half -1.3% to +2.6%), and +1.4% over 20.
