Argentina announced a temporary cut of three percentage points in soybean and soymeal export taxes, lowering them to 30% through the end of 2020. The levy is set to return to 33% in January as the government seeks dollars amid recession and falling reserves.
Farm groups said they were not consulted.
The lower tax is meant to spur farmer selling of soybeans and meal, adding export supply and weighing on soymeal prices in the near term.
