Announced Oct. 30, FMMO Class II, III and IV milk prices for October 2024 all fell from September.
Class II dropped to $21.01/cwt, Class III to $22.85 and Class IV to $20.90, while the advanced Class I base price was set at $23.17.
Lower class prices reduce the value of milk and dairy product outputs, weakening dairy-linked feed demand expectations. A Class III premium over Class IV also gives incentives to depool Class III milk.
After 273 past bearish report events, Milk (Class III) moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (39% higher; middle half -1.3% to +0.4%), and -1.4% over 20.
