DTN analyst Joel Karlin reports that Statistics Canada's December 3 update could show even lower wheat and canola output than USDA's November WASDE. USDA pegged Canadian rapeseed at 13.0 million mt, with yield 34.5% below trend, and wheat at 21 million tonnes, the lowest since 2007/08.
Canadian wheat and canola shortfalls tighten North American supplies and have already lifted U.S. wheat prices, since Canada supplies much of U.S. wheat imports.
After 1,072 past bullish weather events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (55% higher; middle half -1.4% to +2.3%), and +0.3% over 20.
