The DOE/EIA weekly benchmark diesel price fell 2.6 cents to $3.2626 a gallon, its fifth straight weekly decline and down 10.8 cents from its recent high. Commodity ULSD futures had dropped sharply in the final two trading days before the report.
Lower diesel costs ease fuel and freight expenses for feed transport and mill operations, and they reduce the inflation pressure on delivered feed prices.
After 86 past bearish report events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median -0.9% over 5 sessions (37% higher; middle half -4.3% to +0.9%), and +0.4% over 20.
