Port Technology International reports on a UNCTAD report that the war in Ukraine is suffocating trade and logistics in Ukraine and the Black Sea region. It says halted ports, damaged infrastructure, insurance and fuel costs have raised shipping costs and grain transport costs rose nearly 60% from February to May.
It adds that Russia's role in fertiliser and fuel supply is a further concern.
Higher grain freight and possible fertiliser supply disruption raise feed production and delivered grain costs, supporting feed ingredient prices.
