India has restricted exports of wheat flour, effective July 12, after its May ban on wheat exports. The government said the curbs follow a scorching heatwave that reduced output and pushed domestic prices to record highs.
Wheat flour shipments that were previously unrestricted will now need approval, which tightens global wheat product supply and supports wheat prices.
After 182 past bullish policy events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (52% higher; middle half -1.9% to +1.4%), and -0.3% over 20.
