The latest Indian urea tender drew about 2.9 million tonnes of offers, and India locked in about 1.5 million tonnes at around $650/t CFR. Urea prices were broadly stable week on week in South Africa, while potash (KCl) granular fell 1.7%, and a Pakistan tender received only one offer that was deemed too expensive.
The Indian purchase brings some balance to the market, and producers expect prices to rise from November. Potash softness and stable urea prices suggest limited near-term price movement for crop-nutrient costs.
After 23 past neutral trade events, Urea moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.0%), and +2.8% over 20.
