Analysts say corn enters 2025 supported by strong exports and ethanol demand after USDA's December report raised corn exports by 150 million bushels and corn for ethanol by 50 million bushels. Joe Janzen of the University of Illinois said the market has room for some price recovery but remains well supplied, with corn near $4.50 per bushel.
Higher USDA demand estimates reduce expected ending stocks, which removes some of the overhang that had capped corn prices and supports a firmer price outlook for feed buyers.
After 1,040 past bullish report events, CORN moved a median +0.5% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.9% to +2.0%), and +0.8% over 20.
