USDA's Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report showed corn for fuel ethanol falling to 421 million bushels in February, down 10% from January and 5% from a year earlier. Output of dry-mill and wet-mill co-products such as distillers grains, corn oil and corn gluten also declined.
Weaker ethanol corn use lowers corn demand, which is bearish for corn, while reduced co-product output tightens DDGS and corn gluten supply, which supports those feed prices.
After 1,102 past bearish report events, CORN moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -1.8% to +1.3%), and +0.0% over 20.
