CPKC says service is on the mend in former KCS territory

Canadian Pacific Kansas City expects service in former Kansas City Southern territory to return to normal in the second half of July. Congestion, delays and missed switches have persisted since a May 3 systems cutover.

CPKC told the Surface Transportation Board that metrics have started to improve since late May.

WHY IT MATTERS

Rail congestion in the southern US grain corridor can delay grain car movements and widen local basis. Recovery in service supports normal shipping flows for feed grain buyers.
