The rupee rose 0.14% to 95.72 per dollar on July 29, near a two-week high, as state-run and foreign bank dollar sales offset demand tied to about $2.7 billion of futures expiry. Brent rose nearly 4% after falling over the previous three sessions on US-Iran talk hopes that were then dampened by strikes in Iraq.
Routine futures-expiry flows and central bank operations are shifting the rupee only marginally, so the import cost effect for feed buyers is small, while oil swings remain the larger risk.
