USDA's NASS Small Grains 2026 Summary raised the US 2026/27 oat yield by 3.3 bushels per acre to 75.3 bushels, up 4%. Planted area fell 1% to 2.6 million acres and harvested area fell 3% to 1 million acres.
Production rose 1% to 69 million bushels, and beginning stocks were trimmed slightly to 32 million bushels.
The larger US oat crop adds modest supply and slightly eases the tightness in North American oats, a small bearish factor for oat feed prices.
After 72 past bearish report events, Oats moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -3.7% to +3.8%), and -2.5% over 20.
