Finnish health and food authorities report H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza infections on several fur farms in South and Central Ostrobothnia in July 2023. The outbreaks were detected in farmed mink and fur animals rather than commercial poultry.
Fur farm cases are a localized animal health event with little impact on feed supply or demand, so price effects are negligible.
