Indonesia set its palm oil export levy at zero from July 15 through Aug. 31, 2022, under Finance Minister Regulation 115/2022.
The measure covered crude palm oil, processed products, biodiesel and used cooking oil, and was intended to speed exports and support farmers' fresh fruit bunch prices.
The zero levy increases export competitiveness and reduces domestic palm inventories, supporting international palm oil prices through the summer. It did not change Indonesia's biodiesel mandate.
After 548 past bullish policy events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (61% higher; middle half -0.7% to +2.1%), and +0.9% over 20.
