Malaysia kept its crude palm oil export duty at 8% for September 2024 and raised the reference price to 3,915.19 ringgit ($896.75) per metric ton from August's 3,880.86 ringgit. The duty structure runs from 3% to 8% depending on price bands.
The circular was published on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board website.
The unchanged maximum duty leaves Malaysian export costs steady, while the higher reference price lifts the base for duty calculations. The effect on prices is limited because the rate itself did not change.
After 513 past neutral policy events, Palm Oil moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -1.6% to +1.4%), and -0.1% over 20.
