The Jakarta Post reports that the recent crude palm oil export levy increase may tighten supplies of the subsidized Minyakita cooking oil. The DMSI chairman says exporters receive less incentive to meet domestic obligations while CPO prices exceed those of soybean oil.
Exporters have been receiving multiplier incentives of 1 to 1.7 times for DMO fulfillment.
Reduced DMO fulfillment could cut domestic cooking oil availability and push Indonesia to rely less on exports, supporting regional palm oil prices. Palm oil's premium over soybean oil also influences vegoil substitution.
After 548 past bullish policy events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (61% higher; middle half -0.7% to +2.1%), and +0.9% over 20.
