Ukraine is trying to export its grain by road, river and rail, but grain exports collapsed after Russia's blockade of its Black Sea ports. Exports fell to 300,000 tonnes in March and 1.1 million in April, against a pre-war capacity of up to 6 million tonnes a month.
Officials say logistical bottlenecks cannot be solved without lifting the blockade.
With Ukrainian wheat, corn and barley stuck inland, global supply is tighter and prices are supported. Reopening the ports would ease that shortage and pressure prices lower.
