Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture published updated agricultural climate risk zoning (Zarc) ordinances for soybeans in ten states, with more to follow. The update adds a new soil classification and frost-probability factors, and it defines planting windows with estimated yield-loss probabilities.
Embrapa noted that the tool does not identify the highest-yield planting periods.
Revised planting windows and risk maps can shift where and when farmers plant soybeans, affecting future supply timing. The effect on prices is limited.
