The Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (Gapki) forecasts 2017 palm oil exports rising 7.56% to 27 million tons, from 25.1 million in 2016. It expects production to rise 12% to 38.7 million tons.
A forecast 12% rise in production outpaces the 7.6% export growth, which would add to domestic stocks and weigh on palm oil prices. The biodiesel mix policy will absorb some of the extra supply.
After 96 past bearish report events, Palm Oil moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.6%), and -0.9% over 20.
