Hog futures fell on March 29, 2022, ahead of the USDA Quarterly Hogs and Pigs report, while April live cattle closed $0.60 higher and feeder cattle rose on lower corn. Choice boxed beef closed $0.63 higher at $264.50 and estimated cattle slaughter was 125,000 head.
Traders are positioning ahead of the hog inventory report, and lower corn supports feeder cattle prices, but the report is the main near-term driver for hogs.
