Spanish port workers plan a three-week walkout on alternate days from 6 March if the government approves a port labour reform. An earlier strike was suspended, and a go-slow at Valencia has already cut productivity by about 30 per cent.
Prolonged action could slow Spanish exports to non-EU markets reached by sea. Most fruit and vegetable exports move by truck, so the feed-market effect is limited.
