The American Farm Bureau Federation and about 500 other groups sent a letter urging Congress not to cut funding in the 2018 farm bill. Farm Bureau lobbyist Mary Kay Thatcher said crop insurance is likely to be targeted because it costs more than commodity or conservation programs.
