Chinese soybean importers are seeking to postpone or cancel cargoes after incurring heavy losses from crushing soybeans into cooking oil and animal feed. Most cancellations so far have been ordered from Brazilian suppliers, according to a Reuters report.
China buys about 60 percent of the world's soybeans.
Cancelled Chinese purchases reduce import demand for soybeans and could pressure soybean and soymeal prices, especially Brazilian cargo values, while crush losses signal weaker margins for meal output.
