House Republicans introduced H.R. 4667 on December 18, 2017, a third supplemental appropriations bill with about $81 billion in disaster aid.
It includes block grants for agricultural disasters, watershed and conservation funding, and emergency livestock assistance for 2017 hurricane and wildfire losses.
Disaster payments to farmers can ease pressure on producers to sell crops and livestock, but the funding is modest relative to crop losses and would not directly change near-term grain or feed supply.
