Ukraine's seaports transshipped 35.94 million tons of grain in January-November 2017, up 2.82% year on year. Nikolaev, Yuzhnyi and Chernomorsk posted gains while Odessa fell 5.72%.
From the start of MY 2017/18 through December 6, Ukraine had exported 17.5 million tons of grain, 1.29 million tons less than a year earlier.
Port throughput capacity is adequate for Ukrainian grain flows, but slightly lower export volumes point to reduced competition for buyers of feed grains. The effect on prices is modest.
