UOB Kay Hian's plantation research says crude palm oil fell to a new low of US$577/tonne, down 23% from its February peak, as US-China tariffs weighed on soyoil and palm exports fell in early June. The broker maintains a market weight rating.
Weak palm prices and a widening PO-GO spread could lift discretionary biodiesel demand and support palm oil over the longer term, while near-term export weakness keeps pressure on prices.
