The American Soybean Association CEO said Chinese retaliatory tariffs have hurt US soybean prices, which have fallen nearly 20% since China announced its tariff plans on 4 April. Brazilian beans are fetching a premium because of Chinese demand.
The tariffs have cut US soybean export demand and farm-gate prices, while Brazilian supply gains a premium, so the price pressure on US producers persists.
