The American Soybean Association submitted comments to EPA urging higher biomass-based diesel volumes for 2021 and higher advanced biofuel volumes for 2020. It also asked EPA to restore volumes courts found were unlawfully waived in 2016 and to address refinery exemptions granted for 2018.
Flat biofuel volume proposals and refinery waivers reduce biodiesel demand for soybean oil, which weighs on soybean oil and crush economics and therefore soybean meal supply.
