Argentina halted registration of export sales of soybean oil and meal, stopping sales and exports of the 2021/22 crop. The world's top exporter of both products has not yet started physical shipments because harvesting has not begun.
Argentina supplies a large share of global soymeal and oil, so the halt tightens world supply and supports soymeal and soyoil prices, with possible spillover to vegetable oils and feed substitutes.
