Ukrainian sunflower seed prices fell sharply in March as processors struggled to sell and ship products through Black Sea ports, with export demand dropping $70-100/t to $420-435/t. Domestic prices hit the season low of 12,500-15,500 UAH/t as sunflower oil quotes also fell.
Prices began recovering as Malaysian palm oil futures rose 5.6% on lower output and higher exports.
Logistics blockages in Black Sea ports are trapping Ukrainian sunflower supply, pressuring seed and oil prices while processors wait on corridor decisions. Firmer palm oil and a possible rebound in sunflower prices support vegetable oil and meal values for feed buyers.
