FranceAgriMer reported French winter wheat (excluding durum) planting at 90% complete as of November 18, ahead of the five-year average of 87%. Planting had been delayed by heavy rain in September and early October before dry weather allowed catch-up.
Faster planting reduces the risk of a further yield cut from late sowing, which eases some pressure on EU wheat supply. The effect on prices is small.
