Eurostat's flash estimate showed euro zone GDP was flat in Q4 2024, below the expected 0.1% growth. Germany and France contracted while Spain grew 0.8%.
The euro dipped about 0.15% against the dollar after the release.
Weak euro zone growth raises expectations of more ECB cuts, which tends to weaken the euro and support the dollar. Softer European demand also reduces import appetite for feed and oilseeds.
