The EIA's January Short-Term Energy Outlook forecasts Henry Hub natural gas averaging $3.10/MMBtu in 2025 and $4.00/MMBtu in 2026, up from record lows in 2024. Demand growth, led by U.S. LNG exports, is expected to outpace supply growth and pull storage below the five-year average by mid-2025.
Tighter storage and rising LNG feedgas demand point to higher natural gas costs, which raise energy and processing costs for feed producers and compete for fuel-based inputs.
