Soybean futures rose above $10.90 per bushel, their highest since July 2024, after China booked its first US new-crop cargoes. Officials said China agreed to buy 12 million tons this season and 25 million tons annually for three years.
Chinese cargo bookings tighten the global balance because China has taken most of Brazil's exports, which raises export premiums and supports soybean and meal prices. Dry weather in South America adds further support.
