China's National Data Center for Grain and Materials Reserves expects May soybean crushing to rise about 1.6 million tons month-on-month, with meal inventories climbing to around 600,000 tons. On May 7, the 2609 soymeal contract closed at 2,988 yuan/ton, down 19 yuan.
Rising crush and meal stocks add loose supply and pressure spot meal prices. Futures remain under downward pressure as the market absorbs the extra output.
